In May, a new rector of Tallinn University of Technology will be elected. The candidates are Tiit Land and Tarmo Soomere. Their debate can be watched on Friday.
Soomere wants the university to be strong in science. He wants science to be more visible. Soomere says that engineering education is expensive. More money would help it improve.
Land emphasizes the quality of teaching. He wants fewer dropouts and more students. Land says that science has improved.
The university wants more collaboration with companies. The new rector will start work in the new academic year. The rector's term is four years. The council will elect the rector on May 9.
