Eesti 200 wants a referendum.
The referendum will ask people's opinions. People will say whether they support euthanasia. Euthanasia is physician-assisted death.
Kristina Kallas says the referendum will give people the opportunity to express their views. This does not mean that euthanasia will be legalized immediately.
Euthanasia is a difficult topic. But Kallas believes that Estonian society is ready to discuss it.
The referendum question will be: "Should there be a right to euthanasia in Estonia?" The answer can be "yes" or "no".
Kadri Tali says that every country must decide for itself. She asks other parties to talk about euthanasia.
For the referendum to take place, the Riigikogu must vote.
