Minister of Economic Affairs Erkki Keldo says the state wants to help E-Piim. The state wants the factory owners to remain from Estonia. If E-Piim goes bankrupt, the state may provide loan guarantees.
Joakim Helenius believes that several companies want to buy E-Piim. He recommends that Estonian companies collaborate and purchase the factory together.
Peep Peterson, the head of E-Piim's parent company, says there are interested parties. For example, the Dutch company A-Ware has already tried to buy the factory. But Estonian companies are also interested.
Keldo says state aid must be legal. The European Commission must agree.
Helenius believes the state should help dairy producers. Then they can sell the milk to the new owner.
Toomas Juhan from Maag Group says they could join a consortium. Ain Hanschmidt, the head of Infortar, says they have an interest in E-Piim.
