Ando Leppiman, the head of the Estonian Stockpile Centre, said that 15% of Estonian gas stations have generators. This means that these stations will operate even during a power outage.
Leppiman said that people don't want to know where the crisis stations are. They just want to know where to get fuel. The Stockpile Centre has gathered information about all gas stations with generators.
Fuel companies decide for themselves whether to install a generator. They do this for business reasons. Many gas stations can quickly connect a generator during a crisis.
Estonia has enough fuel reserves. The reserves will last for more than three months. The obligation is to maintain reserves for 90 days.
The Stockpile Centre does not own terminals. They use private sector terminals. The reserves are distributed to different locations. This is safer.
