Uma Mekk took place in the Võru Sports House. It is a big fair where local food and drink producers sell their products. There were 90 different sellers at the fair. Everywhere there were smells like grilled cheese and smoked fish. Many buyers couldn't resist and bought something they liked.
The fair organizer Kristin Krinal said that it is important for local food to reach local people. People see who makes the food. This food is not anonymous. Small producers get to showcase themselves.
At the fair, there were both experienced traders and young food masters. They tested the flavors and prices of their products. Some sold stuffed dates. The package contained five different flavors.
The buyers were satisfied. At first, they thought the products were expensive. But when they tried them, they realized that they were worth the price.
One fair visitor, Maire, bought rowan tea, sõir, and goat's raw cheese. Another visitor, Johanna, bought colorful carrots. She said it was her son's first time at Uma Mekk. There were many people, and her son was a little startled.
