The main honey harvest has ended. This happened due to the cool and rainy summer. The honey yield is smaller than usual.
Beekeeping is taught at Olustvere School. Students work with bees. Kaili Retsnik is a beekeeping student. She has been keeping bees for five years. In her opinion, this year is special.
Kaili says: "The weather was different. Just rain. Now it's hot. I'm happy. My bees are bringing a lot of honey."
Valmar Lutsar is a beekeeping teacher. He says there's no need to complain about the honey yield. He adds: "The main harvest has ended. Some flowers are still blooming. The season is ending."
Valmar talks about the honey yield: "This year was rainy. The honey yield depends on the region. Olustvere has a good yield."
Valmar adds that now it's time to start varroa control and feeding the bees. In Olustvere, this will begin on August 15th.
