Since the beginning of this year, there have been issues with booking appointments in the digital registry. Six months ago, ERR's portal and "Aktualne Kaamera" reported on this. However, the situation has not significantly improved.
Anett Pärs, the product manager of the Health Insurance Fund's digital registry, said that sometimes a patient may encounter an error. If a patient tries to book a specific time, they may receive an error message stating that the time cannot be booked.
One of the problems is that multiple patients may try to book the same time slot within a short period. This information does not reach the digital registry quickly enough. Another issue is the data exchange between the digital registry and healthcare providers' systems.
The problem is that a person tries to book a time, but the doctor does not indicate whether the time is available or not. These issues began at the beginning of the year after the health portal and the digital registry merged.
Pärs said that there have been fewer faulty queries in recent months. The problems will disappear once family medical centers and hospitals update their systems.
The Health Insurance Fund has collaborated with institutions and proposed possible solutions. However, healthcare providers have their own work plans, and it is unclear how quickly they can implement the recommendations.
There are not many error messages, and they do not occur for every patient. Most booking attempts are still successful.
