Today is Friendship Day. It is one of the busiest days in flower shops and cafes. In Estonia, flowers were mainly bought by men. The most popular is the red rose.
At noon on Viru Street in Tallinn, it was cold. Sellers said there were fewer customers than on previous Friendship Days. However, sales were good. Aleksander said: "I am an old-school man. I think flowers bring joy to a woman."
Average flower bouquets are smaller than before. Sellers note that people are watching prices. Florist Anja said: "Budget is important. Before, many bought large bouquets, now they buy smaller ones."
In Estonia, men still buy flowers for women. The red rose is the most popular. Indrek said: "I know my girlfriend likes roses. Today I bought pink roses. I also bought cream."
Cafes and restaurants had many customers. The Ciao Ragazzi restaurant in Lasnamäe had many guests. Waitress Diana Šubina said: "In the evening, the restaurant is full. All seats were sold out a week ago."
Prices have risen, but people don't save on Friendship Day.
