The Health Insurance Fund board has proposed changing the rules for general practitioners' fees. According to the new rules, the patient's age and number of illnesses would be taken into account.
In addition, the list of healthcare services will be changed, as well as the conditions for ambulance and remote consultation fees. The Health Insurance Fund wants to divide patients into age groups and disease burden groups.
General practitioners will be paid separately, whether they are independent or part of hospitals. The base cost ceiling, which also covers room and technology costs, will also be changed.
When calculating distance fees, the density of institutions and the poverty of the region will now be taken into account. New effective treatment methods in various fields will be added.
The ceiling price for laboratory services will drop by 15%. This change may help smaller hospitals, but larger hospitals may suffer from it.
The Health Insurance Fund also wants to expand screenings, including lung cancer and colorectal cancer screenings. New vaccines and medications will be added.
All these changes will affect the Health Insurance Fund's budget. The Health Insurance Fund is already in deficit and is awaiting assistance from the government.
