Rae municipal government dismissed Jüri School director Kriste Kald. The government lost trust in her. The reason was a violation of law that could have caused financial damage.
Rae deputy mayor Marju Aolaid said the municipality is still investigating the matter. They will also inform the prosecutor's office. Aolaid said the director's behavior violated anti-corruption laws. That's why she lost her employer's trust. Whether damage occurred will become clear later.
Rae municipality is looking for a new school leader. From June 29 to July 31, the school's business manager will perform the director's duties.
Kriste Kald said she disagrees with the municipal government's decision. She will file a complaint with the Labor Inspectorate. Kald said she made a mistake. She signed an addendum to her mother's employment contract. Her mother has long been the head of studies. The mother did additional work, as before.
Kald believes the mistake was minor. A Labor Inspectorate lawyer said a warning would have sufficed. Kald is sad because she is a former student of Jüri School. She has worked there for a long time and helped develop the school.
Kald's last working day is June 26. She started as director in July 2025.
