A court case has begun in Harju County Court. Finnish company Solita wants payment for work done on developing a road construction information system.
The Transport Administration terminated the project and canceled the contract with Solita. Part of the work had already been completed.
A Solita representative said the parties had agreed in the contract that if the Transport Administration terminates the contract, it must pay for the work done. The Transport Administration did not pay.
Solita now wants payment for the work performed. The Transport Administration does not agree with Solita's demands.
The head of the Transport Administration stated that Solita is claiming its right to compensation. However, in the Transport Administration's assessment, this is unjustified.
There is also a dispute over whether the Transport Administration had the right to offset part of the claim. Solita finds this groundless.
The Solita representative said such situations are rare for them. They are trying to resolve the issues through negotiations.
Solita's claim is approximately 450,000 euros. In addition, there are late payment penalties.
Another hearing will take place in Harju County Court in mid-June. The court will then announce when the decision will be made.
The development of the road construction information system was halted several years ago.
