The Victory Column is now half-dark. The lights are being replaced there. RKIK says it is necessary.
Ando Voogma from RKIK says: 'Every light lasts for a certain time. The old lights are broken. Some have burned out. Some lights are dim. Now they need to be replaced with new ones.'
Some years ago, there was talk of renovation. RKIK says renovation is not needed. The previous owner replaced glass elements. No major renovation has been done. Now it is important to replace the lights.
Previously, there were smaller problems with the Victory Column. For example, something was broken. Now the situation is better. Minor repairs need to be done from time to time. For example, in terms of cladding. Every building needs maintenance.
The War of Independence Victory Column was opened in 2009. It is a memorial to Estonia's victory in the War of Independence.
