People attend church less. Many meet with family online. A congregation member said: 'Some have Christmas dinner. Others talk on the phone. Our family tradition is to go to church.'
In Estonia, Christmas is also celebrated in the Orthodox Church. The Metropolitan said: 'May the New Year come with peace.'
There is a large congregation in Tallinn. It has about 14,000 members. But fewer are active. The pastor said that on Christmas Eve, there were more people in church.
The pastor said: 'The first Christmas day should be more important. But Estonians consider Christmas Eve more important.'
The pastor also said: 'There's a lot to do at Christmas. But I also meet people I haven't seen in a while.'
