The government will discuss the new climate law on Thursday.
The law states that pollution must decrease. For example, by 2030, pollution must be 9% less than in 2022.
Pollution from electricity and heat production must decrease by 21%. Transportation pollution must decrease by 24%.
By 2050, Estonia must achieve climate neutrality. This means there must be a balance between pollution and clean air.
This is hard work. A lot of money is needed. For example, investment in clean energy and new technologies is necessary.
Forests must clean the air more. Agriculture must pollute less.
The first report will be made in 2027. It will show pollution and climate changes.
Estonia needs 17 billion euros. The money will also help in other areas, such as energy and nature protection.
