Tervisekassa has started the search for a new leader. They are using the recruitment firm Tripod for this purpose. The new leader is expected to implement the vision for the next strategic period. Tervisekassa is paying Tripod €25,000.
According to Tervisekassa's statutes, the board must find a new leader. Engaging a recruitment firm is a common practice. A public legal entity cannot use a state selection committee to find a leader, as explained by spokesperson Dan Lõhmus.
In addition to a public search, a targeted search is also being conducted. This means approaching specific individuals directly. If no suitable candidate is found in the first search, the strategy will be adjusted. Tripod will assist during both search rounds.
The new leader is expected to have at least five years of management experience, preferably in healthcare, the public sector, or international institutions. The new leader should be inspiring and innovative, valuing innovative and people-centered culture. The leader must also be ethically correct.
Applications can be submitted until November 12, 2025. Tervisekassa's previous leader, Rain Laane, left on August 22. The reason for the departure was criticism of summer events held at Wagenküll Spa, which cost €84,000.
Additionally, questions have been raised about the relocation of offices to a new building in central Tallinn. Expensive kitchen equipment was purchased there, such as a €3,500 kitchen mixer. Tervisekassa announced a procurement tender for a recruitment firm on September 10. The best offer was selected in mid-October. The job posting was published ten days later.
