The Estonian government is using funds for defense works. This money was previously allocated for climate. Now it will go to the defense industry and roads.
Estonia received a lot of money from the European Union. Three quarters of the funds have already been used. Now they are using 195 million for defense works.
The Ministry of Climate is allocating 85 million to defense. The Ministry of Education is allocating 38 million. Other ministries are allocating smaller amounts. The money will also go to heating and other defense needs.
79 million will go to road construction. This will help the military move around. For example, the Tallinn-Pärnu road and the Tallinn-Tartu road will be built.
Basic infrastructure will be developed in Ermistu for the defense industry. This includes roads, electricity, and water. 20 million will go to building infrastructure for hosting and defending allies.
Estonia must use the money by 2030 at the latest. New projects may start in 2026.
