Raudtee kapitaalremont muudab ajutiselt ida- ja lõunasuuna sõiduplaane
Railway Capital Repair Temporarily Changes Eastern and Southern Schedules
Starting Monday, the schedules for the eastern and southern directions will change due to the railway's capital repair and electrification. The changes affect the Aegviidu, Narva, Rakvere, Tartu, Koidula, and Valga lines.
The infrastructure owner AS Eesti Raudtee continues the capital repair and electrification of the Tamsalu–Tartu railway. The goal is to introduce new Škoda electric trains on the Tallinn–Tartu line. This was stated by Elron's communication manager Kristo Mäe.
Due to the railway works, the schedules for the eastern and southern directions will change from May 19 to June 8. The changes affect two evening departures on the Tallinn–Tartu line, the first and last departures of the day on the Tartu–Tallinn line, and the early morning departure from Jõgeva to Tartu.
These trips will be served by bus between Tartu and Tamsalu. Regular passengers should definitely review the schedule. For trips that include a bus ride, the ticket price for Tallinn–Tartu trips has been reduced. When purchased online, the standard ticket is nine euros and the discounted ticket is seven euros.
Until June 4, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (20.–21.05, 27.–28.05, 3.–4.06), the starting and ending station in Estonia for the Vilnius–Riga–Tallinn/Narva connection is Tartu.
The next time the eastern and southern schedules will change due to repair works is on June 9.
