Luhamaa ja Koidula piiripunktides kasvab inimeste arv sel nädalal
The number of people increases at Luhamaa and Koidula checkpoints this week
Sel nädalal on piiriületajate arv Luhamaa ja Koidula piiripunktis suur. Narva piiripunkt on kolmapäevast reedeni suletud.
This week, the number of border crossers at the Luhamaa and Koidula checkpoints is high. The Narva checkpoint is closed from Wednesday to Friday.
Last week, 500–600 people passed through the Koidula checkpoint daily. At the Luhamaa checkpoint, there were 600–700 people per day.
However, more border crossers are expected this week. The Narva checkpoint is closed from April 30 to May 2.
People who need to travel from Estonia to Russia now go to the Koidula or Luhamaa checkpoints. The checkpoint manager Peter Maran says they need to be prepared for many people.
Last year, holidays showed that many people also mean long queues. People should be prepared to wait outside.
This week, there are more workers at the southeastern checkpoints. They check more people and do more work.
The head of the Luhamaa customs checkpoint, Toomas Huik, says, "We are ready to check more people. Our work is as good as before."
