New Leader for Tartu Court

Ene Andresen will lead Tartu Court from 2026.

Ene Andresen is the new leader of Tartu Court. She starts on January 1, 2026. She will lead for seven years.
Andresen wants to continue her work. She wants a good work environment.
She talks about problems. Judges have too much work. Lawyers lack motivation. Support staff need better tasks.
Minister Liisa Pakosta says the court protects people. The court keeps our freedoms. Judges must work fairly. They must listen and help people.
Andresen has worked in law for a long time. She studied in Tartu University and in Germany. Her focus is on law related to government and migration.
Andresen has been a judge in Tartu Court since 2023. Before, she worked in the Supreme Court and Tartu University. She has written books and articles. She helped make important laws.
The current leader, Sirje Kaljumäe, will end her work. The minister will choose the new leader. Before the decision, she will listen to the court group and the court management council.
