Elistvere loomapargis elab taas karu
A bear lives again in the Elistvere Animal Park
RMK Elistvere loomapargil on uus karu. Karutüdruk Mõmmik tuli Põlvamaalt ja elab nüüd Tartumaal.
There is a new bear at the RMK Elistvere Animal Park. The bear girl Mõmmik came from Põlvamaa and now lives in Tartumaa.
The bear has lived in the Elistvere Animal Park for one week. It has no problems with people. The bear is curious and wants to interact with humans. It tries to play and seeks connection. RMK leader Andri Plato says they are happy about the new bear. They have been waiting for it for a long time.
The previous bear, Karoliina, lived in the park for 26 years. She died last September. Visitors did not know that a new bear was in the park. It was a surprise for them. The bear is bold and not afraid of people. People say the bear is cute and cuddly.
The bear came from Põlvamaa. It had problems there. It visited farms and scared people. The Environmental Board decided that the bear would be better off in Elistvere. They hoped it would hibernate, but that did not happen. In spring, it was noticed that the bear seeks human proximity. This became a problem.
Currently, the bear girl is called Mõmmik. Everyone can participate in the naming contest and give the bear a name.
