The Public Prosecutor's Office will not continue the investigation of RKIK and Datasel transactions at the Ministry of Defense. Instead, the European Public Prosecutor's Office will take over the investigation.
Chief Public Prosecutor Astrid Asi stated that the Public Prosecutor's Office reviewed information from the State Audit Office and the media. They found that the information provides grounds for initiating a criminal investigation.
Asi mentioned that RKIK and Datasel merged in 2024, and RKIK paid millions of euros upfront. Later, it turned out that Datasel had not previously sold missiles. The dispute has now reached the court.
Datasel transactions were funded by European money. This makes the investigation the responsibility of the European Public Prosecutor's Office.
At the same time, the Public Prosecutor's Office will continue the criminal investigation at the Ministry of Defense. There, it will be investigated whether accounting obligations were violated and whether documents were hidden or destroyed.
The Public Prosecutor's Office is also investigating other topics unrelated to Datasel transactions.
