Estonian Defense Forces and Rescue Board have received new armored vehicles

Riigi kaitseinvesteeringute keskus (RKIK) andis üle umbes 50 uut soomukit. Need soomukid on ostetud Türgist. Enamik neist on 6x6 veoskeemiga nimega ARMA. Need on mõeldud jalaväeüksustele. The Center for Defense Investments (RKIK) handed over approximately 50 new armored vehicles to the 2nd Infantry Brigade. These vehicles were purchased from Turkey. The first armored vehicles arrived in Estonia at the end of 2024. Conscripts of the 2nd Infantry Brigade have already begun training. They are also using the vehicles in the large-scale exercise Siil. All ordered vehicles are expected to arrive in Estonia by the end of this year.
The Ministry of the Interior also received four new 4x4 armored vehicles. These belong to the Rescue Board's demining teams. If needed, they can also be used by the police, border guard, and security police. The contracts for the vehicles are valid for 10 years, providing an option to purchase additional vehicles and spare parts. Maintenance, repair, and development work can also be ordered.
