The Political Parties Funding Surveillance Committee (ERJK) found that Jevgeni Ossinovski's hockey advertisements were personal advertisements and prohibited donations. The commission issued Ossinovski an order to return the prohibited donation. Additionally, the commission imposed a 500-euro penalty on Ossinovski.
The chairman of the Tallinn City Council Audit Committee, Manuela Pihlap (KE), approached ERJK regarding the advertisement for the Ice Hockey World Championships. The advertisement featured Ossinovski's face. Commission chair Liisa Oviir stated that the advertisement was a prohibited donation because it was paid for by a legal entity, not Ossinovski himself.
At the previous committee meeting on October 23rd, Ossinovski's response was analyzed. The commission maintained its initial position and issued Ossinovski an order to return the donation. The cost of the advertisement was 370 euros.
If Ossinovski does not pay for the advertisement or does not appeal the commission's decision in court, he will receive a new 500-euro penalty order.
The commission decided not to proceed with the election advertisements of the Car Owners' Union. During the pre-election period, the union posted negative advertisements on Facebook related to car tax, targeting politicians from three parties. The commission found that this issue was not within their jurisdiction.
