Chamber of Commerce and Industry Submitted 70 Proposals to Reduce Bureaucracy
Kaubandus-tööstuskoda saatis valitsusele 70 ettepanekut, mis aitavad vähendada bürokraatiat ja parandada majandust.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry submitted 70 proposals to the government to reduce bureaucracy and improve the economy.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry compiled and submitted 70 proposals to the government. These proposals will help reduce bureaucracy in various fields. The proposals address accounting, occupational safety, and immigration borders.
The Chamber believes that the proposals should already be taken into account in plans to amend laws. This would help reduce companies' time and costs. It would also improve the competitiveness of Estonia's economy.
Oliver Väärtnõu, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, says the proposals are very specific. They will help entrepreneurs reduce the burden of bureaucracy and are easily implementable.
One important proposal is that the preparation of sustainability reports should be voluntary. If it remains mandatory, the obligation should be postponed for two years. The Chamber also recommends that sustainability reports should be submitted every five years, not annually.
Another proposal concerns maintaining employee motivation. The Chamber proposes that expenses for increasing motivation of up to one thousand euros per employee per year should not be taxed. Employers should keep records of these expenses but should not declare them to the tax office every month.
In addition, the Chamber recommends that employees could be sent for health checks to their family doctor under certain conditions. This would help solve the shortage of occupational health doctors.
Entrepreneurs also expect that the processing of plans and permits will become faster. For this, specific deadlines that must not be exceeded should be set.
In March, the government convened the Efficiency and Economic Growth Council. This council focuses on advising the government on reducing bureaucracy. For example, the Employers' Confederation collected over 140 proposals from entrepreneurs to reduce bureaucracy. The Council will select the best proposals and gradually implement them.
