PTA has imposed a residence ban on the Paju pig farm in Põltsamaa parish. The residence ban for 26 other pig farms has also been extended. The residence ban also applies to the Metsküla burial site.
The residence bans will remain in effect until October 31. They may be extended. The ban does not apply to the movement of local residents, farm workers, or farm personnel.
The purpose of the residence restrictions is to reduce the risk of disease spread. The disease can spread quickly. Local residents can move to and from their homes and workplaces. There are no restrictions on transport serving the farm.
The residence ban for three pig farming enterprises has not been extended. The animals there have been culled. Cleaning and disinfection have been carried out.
A residence ban is in effect around the pig farming areas. Staying there is only allowed for performing work tasks. The residence ban area is marked with information boards. If the ban is not followed, assistance will be called from a security company, the police, and the border guard.
