The city of Narva commissioned an expert assessment for the football hall. The assessment revealed major flaws in the hall's core structure. These flaws are so significant that the entire hall must be demolished and rebuilt.
Narva Mayor Katri Raik stated that the hall will not be abandoned. She said that in the near future, the city, designers, and builders will meet. They will find a solution. Raik added that the hall must be made safe and energy-efficient.
Raik also said that whoever made the mistake must pay for it. She did not say whether the hall will open this spring.
Last November, the Narva city government announced that the hall was unsafe. The hall cost seven million euros. In January, Raik said that until the audit is completed, the Trans football team can use the hall for three to four hours per day. This applies only if the weather is calm outside. In case of heavy snowfall, the hall's dome could collapse.
Trans previously used a small hall and an artificial turf field to prepare for the new season.
The problems with the Narva football hall began immediately after it opened. In December 2024, the hall's roof collapsed. Heavy snowfall and wind caused the problem. Snow slid off the dome and damaged the hall's air ducts.
