Putukaväil is now a green area in North Tallinn. There are many play and sports facilities. But for now, they can only be seen behind the fence.
The playgrounds are ready and varied. However, access to them is not yet possible. Putukaväil was supposed to be completed in April, but it was delayed by half a year. The work done in winter was the reason.
The city of Tallinn says that the footpaths are ready for use. But the playgrounds still need a usage permit. The builder should apply for it by the end of July. The city wants to issue the permit quickly. The Väil will not open before the elections.
The former wasteland is now a public space. There are many opportunities here. Especially liked are the community garden and the stage. But there could be more greenery. There is too much asphalt and paving.
Local opinions vary. Some want more nature. Others like the new place. The paths in Väil are in order and clean.
One man visits Putukaväil daily. He walks, rides a bike, or enjoys the sun. He now understands the grill spots and dog areas. In his opinion, there is too much asphalt. But he believes that the trees will grow over time.
