Prime Minister Kristen Michal said that the Reform Party is ready to continue governing together with Eesti 200. This possibility arises if the Social Democrats do not change their behavior. Michal plans to meet with the Social Democrats on Monday and discuss the issues.
Michal said that if an agreement cannot be reached with the Social Democrats, the Reform Party and Eesti 200 could move forward as a duo. Such a government would be right-leaning and could get a lot done. Michal does not rule out cooperation with Isamaa either, but he believes that Isamaa finds it difficult to decide what they consider more important.
Michal said that the views of the Social Democrats are different. He criticized the Social Democrats for obstructing important changes, such as the introduction of cheaper foreign labor and the simplification of nature conservation rules. Michal wants to make things easier, but the Social Democrats seem to oppose it.
The Reform Party currently has 39 members in the Riigikogu. Eesti 200 has 13 members in the Riigikogu. Together, they can count on 52 votes, giving them a slim majority in the 101-member Riigikogu.
