Raigo Uukkivi heads the tax office. He also owns a company called Mubadala. This company deals with real estate. The company has not submitted financial reports for two years.
The reporting deadline was in June. But the company has not done this. Uukkivi says he is not actively working in the company. He is only a shareholder. He promised to inform the board so that the reports would be submitted.
Uukkivi did not answer questions about why his company does not submit reports. This may leave a bad impression because he heads the tax office.
In Estonia, all companies must submit reports every year. This also applies if the company is not doing business. In early September, many companies had not submitted reports.
The business register is managed by the Tartu court. Three years ago the laws changed. Now latecomers can be punished. The fine can be up to 3,200 euros. If a company does not submit a report, it may be deleted from the business register.
