Riina Solman, head of Isamaa's Tallinn district, and Mihhail Kõlvart, chairman of the Center Party, met on Friday. They discussed the possibility of forming a coalition. Both found that there is common ground.
Solman said: "Everyone we've met with finds common ground. No one is more or less important here." Kõlvart added that the discussion was smooth because both parties were prepared.
Kõlvart said: "We discussed the same topics that were in writing. Today we were able to talk about them in more detail." He noted that agreements can be reached on many issues, but not everywhere.
Kõlvart said it is still too early to talk about forming a coalition. Friday's meeting was more of a preliminary discussion. He confirmed that the Center Party is not conducting other negotiations and is waiting for Isamaa's response.
Solman said that now the board of Isamaa's Tallinn district must discuss the matter. "We will provide the information to the board and decide on further steps," she said.
Although the election results have been known for two weeks, it is still unclear who will form the coalition in Tallinn. The Center Party wants to cooperate with Isamaa, but Isamaa is also considering other options.
