Katri Raik and Mihhail Stalnuhhin cooperate in Narva. Raik is the mayor and Stalnuhhin is the city council chairman. They have different opinions but try to work together.
Raik says they are like an old married couple. They argue but then make up. They speak honestly and try to find compromises. Raik says differing opinions force them to make an effort.
Raik doesn't listen to Stalnuhhin's YouTube channel. She doesn't know what Stalnuhhin says there. Raik says forming a coalition in Narva is difficult. She says Stalnuhhin and the local Center Party are similar.
Raik says additional jobs are given to politicians in Narva. For example, a city council member gets 1000 euros extra per month. Raik says this is normal. She is proud that there have been no corruption cases in Narva for the last four years.
Newspapers wrote that there may have been vote buying in Narva elections. Raik says this has been talked about for 26 years but there is no evidence. She says the police must investigate it.
Raik says she doesn't know anyone who would buy or sell votes. She read about it on Facebook. Raik says she can talk to Aleksandr Pahhomov, but the city government is not an investigative body. Stalnuhhin has spoken with Pahhomov and Pahhomov denies vote buying.
