Katri Raik does not plan to return to state politics in the near future. She will return to the Narva City Council. There she wants to monitor the work of the new city government.
Raik said that three things are important for her: vocational education, industry and civil society. She wants Narva to have more training programs in energy and engineering. Industry is very important for Narva. Raik wants to help small businesses, but large factories are key for the city.
She also wants to support Narva's culture. Her dream is to open a Narva folk university. She also wants Narva to become the European Capital of Culture in 2036.
Raik does not plan to become a lecturer. She is tired and wants to rest. In autumn, she will start working on the folk university project.
Raik will join the Respect faction in the council. She praises Aleksander Pahhomov, who has helped Narva residents.
Jaan Toots said that no projects were implemented in Narva during Raik's time. Raik says this is not true. She cites examples like the heating network and road repairs.
Raik believes Narva needs stable leadership. During her time, much work was done to attract investors. For example, negotiations were held with Eesti Energia and others.
Raik disagrees with how Mihhail Stalnuhhin and Jaana Kondrašova were treated. She thinks work should be paid for honestly.
Raik is concerned about the new city government. She thinks many members don't live in Narva and don't know the city's problems.
She doesn't believe the new coalition will last long. Raik does not plan to run for parliament. She wants to rest.
