A study commissioned by the Government Office shows that Estonian residents now feel more confident. In September, 67% of people said they were satisfied with life. In June, this number was 64%.
The number of people facing economic difficulties has decreased. In June, 34% of people had difficulties, in September it was 29%. Confidence about the future has also increased. In June, 58% of people felt uncertain, in September it was 48%.
Estonian residents also feel safer. In September, 43% of people said the situation in the country was safe. In June, this number was 40%. People also feel safer in everyday life. In September, 65% of people felt a sense of security, in June it was 59%.
The level of anxiety has remained the same. 33% of people feel anxious often or very often. This indicator is similar compared to last year.
However, trust in the government and the parliament has declined. In June, 37% of people trusted the government, in September it was 30%. Trust in the parliament decreased from 35% to 29%.
The sense of belonging to society has also decreased. In September, 81% of Estonians said they felt they belonged to society. In June, this number was 88%. Among residents of other nationalities, this sense of belonging decreased from 64% to 44%.
The study shows that Estonian residents support NATO and condemn Russia's actions in Ukraine. 79% of people support NATO membership and 80% condemn Russia's military actions.
