A large honey festival was held in the town of Karksi-Nuia. It was the 17th edition. Spring and summer were cool and rainy. Bees produced little honey. But the honey selection at the festival was extensive.

Two people, Toomas Vene and Linda Kambla, love honey. They said they buy a few kilos of honey every year. Toomas said: "I prefer more traditional honey. I choose producers from cleaner areas."

Beekeepers say this year was challenging. Bees needed more sunlight. Mart Õun, a beekeeper, said: "There is little honey. Prices may rise."

Students from Olustvere School sold honey. They offered fresh honey, creamy honey, and honey mixtures. Valmar Lutsar, a teacher, said: "Honey mixtures and comb honey sell well."

Although there was less honey, it’s a good opportunity to sell old honey. Beekeepers are satisfied with this.
