Aidu Water Adventure Center received funding from the European Union in 2017. The center was supposed to open six years ago, but construction was delayed. The main building was completed at the end of 2023.
Last summer, the center was only open by appointment. Now it will open every day because people have been waiting for it for a long time. Project manager Tarvo Kubja said they are now ready to open every day.
Visitors should be aware that the road to the quarry is still dusty. Also, finishing work is still being done at the center. It is hoped that the road will be clean and paved by August.
At the center, you can go canoeing and SUP tours. You can rent water bikes. The main channel has an outdoor pool and a wake park. The main building has shower rooms and a meeting space.
In June, rowing and paddling lanes were added to the main channel. They were supposed to be completed back in 2014. Kubja hopes that the lanes will attract athletes for training and camps.
Jet skiers are not allowed to use the main channel. They must ride in the side channels to avoid damaging the lanes.
