The Transport Board will open the ice road towards Kihnu on Saturday. The ice road is 12 kilometers long. It can be used from 8:30 to 17:00. The ice road starts in Pärnu, near Munalaid harbor.
Traffic rules must be followed on the ice road. The road is maintained by Verston Eesti OÜ. In case of bad weather, the ice road may be closed. The status of the ice road can be viewed on the TarkTee portal.
The ice road between Hiiumaa and Saaremaa will be opened by 15:00 at the latest. On Sunday, an ice road to Vormsi is also planned to be opened. It is 10 kilometers long.
There is a special rule for the Kihnu and Vormsi ice roads. From 16:00, those who do not want to return can go on the route. This helps other travelers return before closing.
The Transport Board was preparing to open the ice roads, but due to bad weather, the opening was postponed.
