The current SEB headquarters is in Tornimäe. The building was completed in 1999. It was Estonia's first skyscraper. The building has been used by SEB Bank since its completion.
After SEB's relocation, the building will undergo a major renovation. During the renovation, the building will be made energy-efficient and modern. The building will reopen in 2030.
The building is owned by East Capital Group. Martin Otsa, a member of the board of East Capital Group, said that the building will remain multifunctional. In addition to offices, there will be restaurants and businesses providing everyday services.
East Capital Real Estate IV purchased the SEB headquarters building in 2020. The purchase price was 45.75 million euros. The building has approximately 16,000 square meters of leasable space.
SEB's new headquarters will be located in the Talsinki Quarter. This quarter is being built near the Admiralty Basin. Allan Parik, Chairman of the Board of SEB, said that the new location has been sought for some time. The Tornimäe building has been a landmark in the area, but business activity is increasingly moving towards the sea.
