There is now a new mural near Kaali Lake. It was created by British artist Ed Hicks. Located on the wall of Kaali School, it greets everyone heading toward the lake.
In Kärla, Francisco Fonseca from Portugal has created a large mural. The painting depicts historical buildings of Saaremaa. Fonseca said he chose the houses using Google Earth. He loves old and abandoned houses.
The RUA Street Art Festival is being held in Estonia for the eighth time. The festival brought artists from nine countries to Saaremaa. The festival's artistic director Salme Kulmar said that artists come here willingly. They bring street art to small places.
The people of Saaremaa are happy because Saaremaa is getting a lot of new art. Saaremaa's municipal artist Reta Lall hopes that this will inspire people to decorate their walls with professional street art.
Riivo Suave came to Saaremaa from the USA. He painted a girl with a Santa hat in Orissaare. Suave said he enjoys adding fun details to his drawings.
All murals must be completed by Saturday. Then they will be reviewed together.
