The Environment Agency allows more wolf hunting. Initially, 84 wolves were permitted. Now another 46 wolves are allowed. In total, 130 wolves are permitted.
A wolf researcher says that hunting 130 wolves will affect wolf packs. However, the impact is not too significant.
The head of the Environment Agency says the number of wolves is increasing. Currently, there are 29 wolf packs.
To limit the number of wolves, more wolves need to be hunted. The Environment Agency allows another 18 wolves in regions where the wolf population is high.
By January 2, 55 wolves have been hunted in Estonia. More can still be hunted.
The wolf researcher says the exact number of wolves is not known. The new quota is not too large.
Humans affect wolves significantly. In Europe, 80% of wolf deaths are caused by humans.
A zoologist says: dogs should be kept at home. Sheep should be in herds. The state should invest in preventing wolf damage.
The decision of the Environment Agency can be appealed within 30 days.
