Before the outbreak was detected in Estonia's largest pig farm, EKSEKO, pigs were moved from there to other farms. This creates significant pressure.

In Metsküla, Viljandi County, preparations are being made for a burial site, but a decision has not yet been made. The plan includes using the Iru incineration plant as well.
RMK member Erko Soolmann said that the burial site in Metsküla has been marked with prohibition signs. The area is under surveillance and has a disinfection zone.
Raivo Heinam emphasized that burial is the last resort. Currently, Atria's animal waste disposal unit is being used.
Negotiations with a Lithuanian plant failed. It is currently recommended to keep the islands free of the disease.
Deputy Chancellor of Food Safety Triin Kõrgmaa said that the disease spreads to farms when the background level in the forest is high. The government is developing a plan to support the sector.
The situation is tense and rapidly changing. Consumers are advised to prefer Estonian food.
