Kruiisihooaeg algab tänavu Saaremaalt
The cruise season starts this year from Saaremaa
Tänavu külastavad laevad Saaremaad kuuel korral ja Tallinnas maabuvad kruiisituristid 115 korral.
This year, ships will visit Saaremaa six times, and cruise tourists will arrive in Tallinn 115 times.
On Sunday, the French cruise ship Le Champlain will arrive at Saaremaa harbor. The ship arrives at 12:30. There are 163 passengers on board, mainly from France and the United States. The ship comes from Riga and will continue to Helsinki in the evening.
The same ship will visit Tallinn Old Harbor on April 22. The ship was built in 2018. It is 131 meters long and can accommodate up to 184 passengers. This year, ships will visit Saaremaa six times. The next visit will be on June 21 and the last on September 15.
The cruise season at Tallinn Old Harbor starts on April 22 and ends on October 12. A winter cruise is also planned for December. A total of 115 cruise ships will visit Tallinn harbor.
The most visitors will arrive on May 14. On that day, five cruise ships will dock at the harbor, and Tallinn will welcome over 8,000 cruise tourists. On 12 occasions, ships will stay in Tallinn for two days, and on 34 occasions, they will stay until midnight or early morning hours.
Last year, cruise ships visited Saaremaa and Tallinn harbor a total of 108 times. Before the pandemic, ships visited Tallinn over 300 times a year. In 2020, Tallinn expected 336 cruise visits. The number of cruise visits has decreased because Russia's war in Ukraine has altered cruise routes. Ships no longer go to St. Petersburg or visit ports along the way.
