The Estonian government is allocating an additional four million euros to Rail Baltica. This money is part of the project's budget.
Infrastructure Minister Kuldar Leis says this is an old plan. Most of the funding comes from Europe. Estonia's money will go to salaries and project implementation.
According to Rail Baltica information, Estonia plans to build for 686 million euros by 2027. Currently, there is 493 million available. The missing funds will be applied for in autumn.
Rail Baltica head Anvar Salomets says funding is decided year by year. About 500 million has already been allocated. A more detailed financial plan will be made by the end of August.
Leis says the funding is reviewed annually. The state ensures there is enough money.
Salomets says the exact amount for next year is not yet known. A large portion of the funding comes from the European Union.
Leis says new European funding will begin in 2028. Rail Baltica is important for Estonia, so funding will continue.
The situation in Latvia is unclear. Estonia has been waiting a long time for Latvia's response. Latvia needs to decide if they want to change the project.

Latvia's RB Rail head Matiss Paegle said in June that Latvia won't be ready by 2030. He suggested a new deadline, such as 2035.
