Lukas wrote on social media that the parties agreed on key points in the healthcare and social sectors. For Isamaa, it is very important that the development of the Tartu University Clinic is ensured and that medical education remains only in Tartu.
To this end, they oppose, by all legal means, the merger of hospitals in Tallinn into one large hospital. This would concentrate too many resources in one place and make it more difficult to maintain balance in Estonia.
In addition, the parties agreed to increase the sense of security for families and the elderly in Tartu. They will raise childbirth and caregiver allowances and expand services that support living at home.
Tartu will receive a new day center in the Annelinn district and will continue the care coordinator system. The goal is for every resident of Tartu, whether a young parent or an elderly person, to feel that the city stands up for them.
Additionally, a clear direction was found for the development of the Tartu University Clinic and the emergency center. Tartu's position as the center of medicine in Estonia was also defended.
Lukas added that nothing is finally agreed upon until all points are discussed.
