The Estonian Teachers' Union (EHL) is preparing for negotiations starting in June.
They want the state to fulfill its promise - to raise teachers' salaries to 120% of the national average.
This means that by 2027, teachers' salaries should be 2300 euros per month.
EHL leader Reemo Voltri says they are inviting all parties to negotiations from June.
The main goal is to get a long-term agreement that raises teachers' salaries and keeps them in the profession.
Voltri says this is a matter of politicians' credibility.
If salary increases were promised before the elections, now they must happen.
In 2024, teachers went on strike for a week.
In the end, they agreed that the salary would rise to 1820 euros.
This was a compromise, as initially 1950 euros was desired.
