Sandra Haugas said that working is no longer a choice but a necessity. She mentioned that school is free, but many still have to work, especially those whose parents cannot help.
Brita Juske, a student at Tartu Ülikool, said that working helps her financially. She has managed to combine work and school. She said that if her parents couldn't help her, she wouldn't be able to attend school without working.
Janne Pukk, an advisor at the Ministry of Education, said that students' situations vary. Some are young, others are older and have families or loans. Therefore, it is difficult to help everyone in the same way.
The state has increased the study allowance from 3000 euros to 6000 euros. Loan conditions are also being changed to make them more accessible.
