The Health Insurance Fund moved to a new office in the Arteri quarter of Tallinn at the end of last year. However, many employees prefer to work from home.
The Health Insurance Fund does not require employees to be present in the office. Communications Manager Dan Lõhmus said that since the start of Covid-19, working in the office has not been made mandatory. However, this may change in the future.
Up to 90 people can work in the new office at the same time. This is less than half of the Health Insurance Fund's 200 employees. The office occupancy depends on the period and day of the week.
In summer, there are fewer people in the office as many are on vacation. In autumn, work becomes more active and more meetings take place.
The Health Insurance Fund's new office is smaller and cheaper than the old one. The office area is 2000 square meters and the lease is for 10 years.
The Health Insurance Fund has not disclosed the size of the office rent. However, it was announced that over 60,000 euros are paid per month.
The Riigikogu Anti-Corruption Committee will investigate the Health Insurance Fund's rental costs and the activities of its team. The committee is collecting documents to gain clarity.
