Railway repairs have disrupted bus traffic. In many places, bus and train schedules are coordinated. When the train schedule changes, the bus schedule often falls behind. This means that some passengers are left waiting for the bus.
According to public transport center managers, information is received too late. For example, they learned about the schedule effective on May 19 only on May 14. As a result, not all bus schedules could be changed. Some connections were interrupted, others were preserved.
People should be notified at least a week in advance. Now there was no time for notification. The bus schedule change affects all bus line users.
The head of the Southeast Public Transport Center said that the train schedule is unstable. Changes are effective only on some days and the notification time is short. For example, it is known that a new schedule will come into effect on June 9, but as of May 29, it has not yet been published.
Estonian Railway commented that notification takes time. Various construction projects in one period make the matter more complicated. A separate schedule must be made for each traffic disruption, which must also be coordinated with others.
The Regional Ministry asks that the railway notify of changes at least a month in advance. The ministry does not have the authority to call the railway to order.
