There is a new sculpture in Sõmeru. The sculpture is a statue of Ruuben Lambur. Ruuben was a forest brother. He sits on a bench. The sculpture is in front of the Sõmeru center.
Ruuben visited Sõmeru often. He went there during the Soviet era. He visited and danced there.
The sculpture was made by Aivar Simson. It was difficult for Simson to make the head and glasses. Ruuben used his hands a lot. With his hands, he shows emotions.
Ruuben's daughter Meret says: "The statue is just like my father." Simson did well with the movement.
The sculpture was unveiled on his 100th birthday. Ruuben was born in 1925. He lived in Estonia and fled from the Soviets. He wrote the book "Alutaguse Saaga". Ruuben died in 2023. He is buried in Tõrma cemetery.
