West Tallinn Central Hospital has had no chairman of the board since the beginning of this year. The board has two members, but no new chairman is being sought.
The hospital's operations are now continued by Tallinn Hospital. This is part of a larger plan to merge various hospitals in Tallinn.
Previously, West Tallinn Central Hospital was led by Arkadi Popov. Now he manages Tallinn Hospital. He is assisting in the merger of the hospitals.
The merger of hospitals will begin with East and West Tallinn Central Hospitals. It is expected to be completed by 2028. Other hospitals will join later.
Tallinn wants the hospitals to work better together. The saved money will be used for patient treatment and staff development.
