Minister of Economic Affairs and Infrastructure Erkki Keldo said that the coalition agreement is almost ready. It will receive party approval on Saturday.
Keldo mentioned that they went over the final details. The coalition agreement will first be introduced to the party board and faction. On Saturday, it will be presented to the party council. The public will be able to familiarize themselves with the agreement after the council's approval.
Keldo noted that Eesti 200 and the Reform Party had differing opinions on some issues, such as funding and the timeline. However, they agreed that funding decisions will be made after the summer economic forecast. Then the financial resources and opportunities will be clear. The largest investment will go to national defense.
Keldo added that the major financial agreements concern national defense and tax cuts. Other reforms, such as road maintenance and changes to parental benefits, still need clarification. Financial issues will be discussed within the budget framework.
The coalition agreement will also bring discussions on salary issues. The salaries of police officers, firefighters, teachers, and cultural workers depend on the state budget's possibilities. This will be discussed later.
